The place? Reese Witherspoon's spectacular $7 million ranch in Ojai, California, 85 miles away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood -- and all his personal drama there.

According to new reports, Witherspoon immediately offered her vacation home, where she married talent agent Jim Toth last year, to her “Water for Elephants” co-star, who she has described as “the nicest guy” – and he moved right in. In a funny coincidence, photos of Witherspoon's home ran on Elle Decor's website the day after Stewart's scandal broke, with Witherspoon describing the place as somewhere she can relax. "The air is fresh, the phone isn't ringing, you can't access e-mail. Time slows down," she said.

People magazine reports that after Stewart herself broke the news of her cheating to Pattinson, he fled the Los Feliz home that they shared but he owns. First he met with friends at the L.A. lounge the Churchill before Witherspoon – who went through her own public cheating scandal when her now ex-husband Ryan Phillippe allegedly had an affair with Australian actress Abbie Cornish in 2006 – suggested he stay at her weekend retreat. While there, Pattinson ignored Stewart's attempts to reach out, leaning on his friends and manager for support during the saga – and ordered Stewart to move her things out of his house. Us Weekly says he has filled his days jogging on the extensive grounds of Witherspoon's home, smoking, and "reading everything" he can get his hands on about Stewart's affair.

According to both magazines, Pattinson read Stewart's public apology to him when he saw it on the Internet – and it actually made the situation worse. "He read it online and was livid that Kristen is out there giving a statement and he's the last person to know about it," a source told Us Weekly. People magazine called the publicness of Stewart's statement "excruciating" for the British actor. "It's heart-wrenching for such a private person." Initially Pattinson wasn't speaking to Stewart, who had been sending him emotional text messages, but since last weekend they have been in contact again – not that Twi-hards should look too much into that. "Rob just isn't going to be able to get beyond the cheating – one time or not," a source told People.

While Pattinson has been at Witherspoon's, Stewart has been living with her parents since she moved her belongings from Pattinson's home. According to Us Weekly, her parents "feel Kristen has really embarrassed herself... This is not the Kristen they know."
Meanwhile, there are questions being raised as to when Stewart's romantic relationship with Sanders began. While the actress described it as a "momentary indiscretion," sources told People that while they were promoting "Snow White and the Huntsman" in June, "their body language and chemistry was definitely notable" and given their relationship statuses, "the flirting seemed inappropriate." The magazine reports Sanders seemed to be the pursuer. "Rupert had been infatuated with her since the production, but she always kept it professional because she loved her boyfriend... It only became a flirtation recently, and she was lured into a brief situation that she never wanted."
Us Weekly noted that Sanders would "stare at" Stewart on the set and one time, "Kristen and Rupert were talking and he tucked her hair behind her ear. Their conversations would always be quiet and personal." The magazine also hints that Pattinson suspected his lady love's mind was elsewhere because she had been obsessed with her phone prior to the split – never letting it out of her sight. However, when he confronted her about being secretive, "she assured him nothing was going on."

As for Sanders' marriage to British Vogue model Liberty Ross, who played Stewart's mother in "SWATH," People reports that the couple haven't seen each other since the news broke – even though he issued an apology to his "beautiful wife and heavenly children." A source told People, "Her sole focus is on protecting the kids."
