HOT MOVIE STARS: Rachel McAdams is fashion-forward in futuristic floor-length gown as she steals the show at About Time premiere

She's best known for her love of down-to-earth, low-key style.
But Rachel McAdams embraced futuristic fashion for the premiere of eagerly-awaited new Richard Curtis film About Time in London on Thursday night.
Stealing the show in a floor-length lavender Roksanda Ilincic gown and towering stilettos, the 34-year-old walked the red carpet at Somerset House.

Her hair, which was a slightly more fiery shade of red than usual, offset her porcelain skin, giving her an ethereal look as she posed for photographs.

The dramatic gown, which was long-sleeved and had a train which dragged along the ground, was cinched in at the waist with a perspex belt.
With jutting shoulder pads and a long blue turquoise panel down the back, the dress certainly wasn't a safe choice for the star, who clearly wanted to make an impact.

Rachel, whose ex-boyfriend Michael Sheen was recently spotted out and about with co-star Caitlin Fitzgerald, certainly seemed keen to grab the limelight as her co-stars paled in comparison at the London opening.
She was joined at the central London venue with her leading man Domhnall Gleeson, who looked dapper in a simple grey suit and navy tie.
Seeming in great spirits he laughed as the cameras snapped away, putting his arms around co-stars Bill Nighy and Margot Robbie.

The Australian former Neighbours actress wore a floor-length white lace gown and bright yellow platforms, with her hair scraped back into a loose plait.

The new film from the creator of Notting Hill and Love Actually is another romantic comedy but with a sci-fi twist, revolving around a young man who discovers that he can travel in time.
Slated for general release in the UK on September 4, the film stars Gleeson who is determined to use his gift to get himself a girlfriend, but unwittingly erases his whole timeline.
