Brian Ach/WireImageSajak began hosting "Wheel of Fortune" in 1981, and once White joined the show in '82, the two began taking lengthy dinner breaks before the show's night tapings. Sajak recalled sneaking away to a Mexican restaurant across the street from their Burbank studios to drink margaritas.
"Vanna and I would go across and have two or three or six and then come and do the last shows and have trouble recognizing the alphabet," said Sajak, now 65. "They're really good tapes to get a hold of."
He admitted the average number of drinks they would knock back was "quatro," and was surprised to note, "no one said anything, so I guess I did OK."
Talk about good fortune.
