For any young Hollywood starlet worth their weight, working with photographer Tyler Shields is akin to a rite of passage.
And the most recent bright young thing to team up with the experimental photographer is teen queen Demi Lovato.
Speaking of his reasoning for teaming up with the singer and actress, Tyler Shields told MailOnline: ‘I want to show a new side of Demi. She’s all grown up now.’

He added: ‘I think she gets it. She’s had a hard life but there’s always two sides to all of it. She loves to create, that's for sure.’
The photo shoot sees the 19-year-old smashing a large sheet of glass into tiny pieces.
But in keeping with her professionalism, the Disney star doesn’t flinch in inch as she is showered with shards.
And the superstar photographer was quick to praise the pair’s working relationship.

He said: ‘She’s fantastic. Such a lovely girl, very sweet and easy as pie to work with. She’s also very good at breaking things.’
Tyler said that Demi had just one chance to create the impressive glass-shattering shot.
He said: ‘I tossed her a giant thing of glass and said, “Smash the hell out of it. Also you get one take, so don't mess it up.”’
Camp Rock star Demi also used the photo shoot to show off her sexy side, with one shot seeing her sucking suggestively on a lollipop.

She can also be seen posing in a black fringed wig in one photo and in another posing against a white wall in an off-the-shoulder top while pouting her full and glossy red lips.
The series of images were created in just two hours at the photographer’s home.
Tyler has worked with the likes of Mischa Barton and Dianna Agron, becoming a household name after the release of his blood-thirsty images of Lindsay Lohan, which depict the star as a vampire.
The photographer told MailOnline that in the future, he would love to collaborate with Nicolas Cage, Francesca Eastwood and Lea Michele.

The images of Demi will feature in Tyler's show Beyond the Gates, which opens at Imitate Modern on February 24

As well as this hit list, he hopes to work with his close friend Emma Roberts again.
In the meantime the celebrity favourite has a few other projects up his talented sleeve.
He said: ‘I am directing a film called Final Girl that I am in the middle of casting now. My photography book The Dirty Side of Glamour is almost done and my novel Smartest Man is out on Amazon.
Tyler’s images of Demi will feature amongst other works at his upcoming show, Beyond the Gates, which opens at London's Imitate Modern gallery on February 24.
