January 2012 She has made no secret in the past of her love of cosmetic enhancement, revealing in a past interview that she swears by Botox, vitamin injections and collagen as a means to keeping her famous features looking youthful.
But when Cindy Crawford attended a basketball game in Los Angeles with her husband Rande Gerber this week, the 45-year-old supermodel looked to have upped the frequency of her visits to the dermatologist's office.
With age, cheekbones usually drop, appearing lower and flatter. In contrast, Cindy's appeared high and fuller than ever, and her forehead was smooth and entirely line-free.
In youthful faces, the cheekbones are naturally high and defined, and the jawline is defined, but soft.
As the face ages, the cheekbones drop, making the face appear more oblong, and losing the triangle of youth. The lips turn down at the corners, creating an inverse triangle: the opposite of a youthful effect.
Rather than using old face lift methods to pull the skin back and eradicate wrinkles, cosmetic surgeons found that reinstating the golden triangle by adding fillers to the cheekbone area would bring back the illusion of youth.
It is this kind of procedure that dermatologists are suggesting could be behind Cindy's newly plumped-up cheekbones.
Nick Percival of Cosmetic Surgery Partners says: 'She has very well-defined cheekbones which could suggested she has had some injectables to highlight these,' he told MailOnline.
'And there appear to be no lines between her eyebrows which could suggest she has had Botox in this area.'
'But she has not had Botox around the eyes, as her eyebrows now actually appear lower and we can see a skin excess under her lower eyelids.
American dermatologist Dr. Ben Behnam is even more adamant that famous supermodel bone structure has had a helping hand, saying on RadarOnline.com: 'Her cheeks are a lot fuller. She definitely had something injected in her cheeks. Most probably Radiesse or the other option would be Sculptra.'
'They're both designed to give people higher cheekbones. It's very popular in the industry and her cheeks are visibly higher and fuller.'
Dr Benham adds that it is very difficult to ascertain when Cindy might have had any such procedure, as injections like Sculptra are typically done over a period of months and can last years.
'She has what's called the Triangle of Beauty (a triangle created by tracing an imaginary line from one side of the cheek to the other cheek to the chin area) and right now she's losing that triangle,' Dr. Behnam said.
'It gives her that look of not being young anymore. Because that's how we perceive youth, is the triangle of beauty.'
'Let's not forget, Cindy has her own skin care line called Meaningful Beauty, which brags that it's "Cindy's anti-aging secret,"' he adds.
'She still looks good for someone her age!'

Enhanced? Cindy seems to have fuller, higher cheekbones now than she did 20 years ago in 1992

Other stars keen to maintain the triangle of youth are Madonna, left, who is rumoured to have had thread lifts to raise sagging cheeks, plus Botox and copious fillers. Also Carla Bruni, right, who according to surgeon Alex Karidis has overused Botox and fillers, hence the hamster cheeks and odd eyes
