HOT CELEBRITIES: Andy Garcia starts filming in the Dominican Republic

As published in Diario Libre several weeks ago, actor, director and producer Andy Garcia began filming scenes yesterday for the movie "The Truth" also starring Eva Longoria, Kim Coates, Deborah Kara Unger and Forest Whitaker. According to a press release from the film's publicist Todd Zeller, the celebrities arrived on Sunday through the Las Americas International Airport.
Diario Libre reports that the scenes will be filmed in Haina and in the Colonial Zone during this week. Last night Eva Longoria revealed that she was coming to the DR via her Twitter account. "Dominican Republic, here I come!!! Venga! Vamos! Dominicana" was the comment that alerted the local press.
Cuban Andy Garcia has filmed scenes here for his movie "The Lost City" and has been here on more than one occasion. Longoria is visiting Dominican soil for the first time together with the outstanding actor Forest Whitaker. Longoria became famous for her role as Gabrielle Solis in the television series "Desperate Housewives." Forest Whitaker won an Oscar for his role in the film, "The Last King of Scotland" as well as many other prizes for his successful work in Hollywood.

The Truth comes from Rollercoaster Entertainment and Vortex Words + Pictures, with Gary Howsam and Bill Marks sharing the producer credits.
Jeff Sackman, Garcia and Coates are executive producing.
Writer/director Lee’s recent movie credits include the upcoming Sacrifice, as well as King of Sorrow and Mercy.

What a trio! According to the latest reports Andy Garcia, Forest Whitaker and Eva Longoria are all attached to star in the upcoming action thriller titled The Truth! Is this for real, or what?
It looks that we’re not dreaming after all, and that director Damian Lee definitely knows what he’s doing with this one…
And just in case you thought the cast list end with above mentioned trio, you were absolutely wrong, because we also have Kim Coates, Deborah Kara Unger, Kevin Durand, Devon Bostick, Lara Daans and Steven Bauer all on board for The Truth.
So, really guys, what’s so special about this project when everybody wants to be in it?
Well, we could say – nothing spectacular.

The Truth will follow an ex-CIA operative who is now working as a political talk show host. He’s approached by a corporate whistle blower to “expose her company’s cover-up of a massacre in a South American village. As we learned, Garcia is on board to star as that ex-CIA operative, while unfortunately, still nothing on Whitaker’s and Longoria’s roles.
Anyway, shooting begins later this month in Ontario and in the Dominican Republic, and we’ll be right here with every new update on The Truth!
