La relación de la pareja se convirtió en el comidillo de los tabloides en los últimos meses debido a los rumores en torno a una infidelidad de Kutcher.
"Es con gran tristeza y dolor de corazón que he decidido terminar mi matrimonio de seis años con Ashton. Como mujer, madre y esposa hay ciertos valores y votos que considero sagrados y es en ese espíritu que he decidido seguir adelante con mi vida", afirmó la actriz en un comunicado.
Moore agregó que "este es un momento difícil para mí y mi familia, por lo que pediría la misma compasión y privacidad que le darían a cualquiera en una situación similar".

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have announced they are ending their marriage after six years together.
Moore, 49, told Access Hollywood on Thursday that she's plans to divorce Kutcher, 33, and has "great sadness and a heavy heart."

"As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," she said in a statement to Access .
Ashton also confirmed the split on Thursday, Tweeting, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK"
