As we gear up for the 2012 election, Hollywood's citizens are throwing their influence into the political sphere.
Antonio Banderas and wife Melanie Griffith in particular are hosting an event for President Obama at their home at 6 p.m. on October 24, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Eva Longoria will co-host the gathering, which is intended to help draw support from Latinos, who comprise the second-largest population group in the country, according to the U.S. Census. It's unsurprising that Banderas and Griffith are opening their doors for this gala, as the couple rallied behind the president when he ran in 2008.
According to THR, this event is a first: A national Latino fundraising fete to support Obama's candidacy. Tickets to the affair run between $5,000 and $38,000.
