ADRIAN WU
Age proves to be but a number when 21 year old Adrian Wu has already racked up a long list of fashion accreditations in just the last year alone. Wu taught himself how to sew at age 18 and in late 2010 he started his own design company. In the same year, Wu worked as a part time correspondent for MuchMusic and was also internationally published in a book called Style Diaries. Adrian Wu continues to develop his company in Canada and will be opening a store front studio downtown Toronto end of 2011. Wu has already been featured in Flare with Fashion Magazine and Fashion Television already marking him as a one to watch. He has also had his first corporate collaboration with Allan Candy Inc., where he was commissioned to make a collection of dresses out of their wrappers. Canadian, Amanda Lew Kee was born and raised in Toronto and at age 22, explored her network beyond her hometown by moving to New York. In a span of a couple of years, Textile Designer and Artist, Anu Raina has created quite a stir in the Canadian art and fashion scene including a successful debut at the LG Fashion Week in April this year. Canadian born designer, David Dixon was trained and educated at Ryerson University. David Dixon enjoys tremendous media acclaim, standing out among his Canadian contemporaries as one of the leaders in fashion design. In 1995, after an apprenticeship with the world-famous Canadian designer Alfred Sung, Dixon established his own label. He started out at the Toronto Fashion Incubator, a highly respected training ground for up-and-coming new designers, and began manufacturing and wholesaling his own line in 1996. Dixon left the Incubator to launch his own Toronto-based design and production studio, but he remains affiliated with the TFI and sits on its Board as the President. More recently, Dixon has expanded his successful signature collection, and has partnered with several National and International brands to further the David Dixon label. Collaborations with the highly successful Town Shoes Chain have resulted in a nationally recognized David Dixon shoe line, bags and eyewear, while partnerships with The Shopping Channel, Mattel International, and IKEA, has brought Dixon into other new and exciting arenas. LAUREN BAGLIORE (pronounced "bal-your-ray") is no stranger to design. The legendary designer chose Bagliore to come to London and work full-time at her fashion house. Working with VIVIENNE WESTWOOD greatly influenced Bagliore's design aesthetic. is the brainchild of Danish born designer, Camilla Jørgensen. With a background in manufacturing and successful career in retail ownership Camilla followed her passion for charity work and got her hands dirty in Africa, where she met and married a Canadian pilot. Camilla now calls Canada home. In 2007, when a close friend in Montreal was diagnosed with cancer, Camilla chose to engage her friend in making jewelry to distract her while through her cancer treatment. After a blessedly recovered, Camilla returned to her entrepreneurial ways designing unique handcrafted jewelry using carefully selected gems. Inspiration is drawn from the unique nature of each stone creating a quality piece that is as timeless as it is individual and can be worn for years to come. MICALLA is designed and crafted in Camilla's Montreal studio.
