Bet you never thought you'd see Vada Sultenfuss sharing a red carpet with the Iron Lady!
Anna Chlumsky, who was 11 years old when she charmed Hollywoood as Macaulay Culkin's first kiss in 1991's "My Girl," walked the red carpet for the New York premiere of Meryl Streep's new movie on Tuesday night. Now 31, Chlumsky has usually avoided public appearances ever since she dropped out of the limelight in the late '90s.

"I didn't want to go down any scarier path of low self-esteem than I was already on the track for," Chlumsky told People in 2009 of her brief retirement. "So during my second year of college I was like, 'I'm over it! I have to go see what this other thing called life is about!'"
The Chicago native enrolled at the University of Chicago, where she met her now-husband of three years, Shaun So, an Army reservist, and earned a degree in international studies. She went on to work in publishing in the Big Apple but returned to acting in the mid-'00s and landed a small role in the first season of "30 Rock," playing the girlfriend of a guy Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) had a crush on.
Chlumsky cruised back onto Tinseltown's radar in 2009, when she starred as a political aide in the critically acclaimed British ensemble comedy "In the Loop." But her "Iron Lady" red-carpet appearance was to promote her upcoming TV series, "Veep," in which she stars opposite Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

So what's next? Chlumsky is currently in preproduction on a comedy called "Sam," co-starring Chris Klein, about an alpha male from NYC who transforms into a girl and falls for his best friend.
