When Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries in October and reports claimed that she profited from her wedding, pulling in millions of dollars, it seemed like some people had enough. A petition was started in hopes of boycotting anything associated with the Kardashian family, especially Kim. With the recent season start of Kourtney and Kim Take New York, people were desperate to see the show to see if Kris Humphries indeed was as bad as he was portrayed in the media, but the show appears to work against Kim's cause.
And the online petition in place to boycott Kim is growing. First, it was a few hundreds, then thousands. As of mid-December, the petition was reached new heights with 277,500 signatures that represent individuals who are done supporting and watching anything that has to do with the Kardashian family, including Kim Kardashian.
So what is the reason for all of these signatures? The petition site explains that the signatures represent people that believe Kim has made "a mockery of American culture" and is hoping that her sponsors will take notice that she may not have the influence over the public as she once had. Kim has already been told she abused the institution of marriage by getting married and divorce before the couple even got a house.
According to NY Daily News, the boycott website is being closely monitored by Sears, a company that is working with the Kardashian family to sell their collection. The products are currently discounted drastically, which could indicate that the products are not selling as well.
So what is the goal of the petition? "500,000 would be the kind of 'serious number' that would prompt a company such as Sears to re-evaluate its relationship with Kardashian," writes NY Daily News.
Are you supporting Kim Kardashian or have you signed the petition against her?
