What's getting Rooney Mara's back up?
The 26-year-old star of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" has taken to flashing her (now tattoo-less) back all over the red carpet in various haute couture.
At the New York premiere of her Golden Globe-nominated film on Wednesday, Mara wore a black Prabal Gurung cocktail number. To the cameras, she showed off the black-buttoned seam down the sheer back of her thigh-length frock.
She struck a similar pose at the film's world premiere in London on Monday. In a floor-length white lace gown by Givenchy, Mara twisted her torso to reveal the cut-out back of her ethereal lace-sleeved dress.

Perhaps Vogue is to blame for Mara's red carpet looks? The actress landed the cover of the world's most famous fashion magazine in November, when she showcased her back in a sheer-back Ralph Lauren dress with rhinestone detailing. Inside the magazine, she similarly turned away from the cameras in both a backless Alexander Wang knit top and a Marchesa metallic sequined gown.
Mara admitted to the U.K.'s Style magazine that she overhauled her wardrobe after appearing in "Dragon Tattoo." "My wardrobe has completely changed," she said. "It had to, partly because of my hair and partly because I stopped feeling comfortable in what I used to wear. I don't feel comfy in those clothes anymore because I have been living as Lisbeth for 14 months."
So, maybe Mara believes she still has alter ego Lisbeth Salander's massive tat on her back and is simply showing off her defining feature? Someone needs to tell her there's nothing there anymore. It's just a movie!
